The official opening of Our Lady, Star of the Sea Catholic Church took place in 1973. His Grace, Archbishop Denis Hurley OMI DD,
officiated.
The following hymn which mentions the name of the parish was sung as the recessional hymn of the opening ceremony
on 08 December 1973:
