SACRAMENTS
BAPTISM
The sacrament of baptism is celebrated in the parish church by arrangement with the parish priest. At least three months
notice needs to be given. We look forward to helping new parents to prepare for this special public event which marks the beginning
of a child's spiritual journey in the Christian community . Please check the parish bulletin for further details.
The baptism of a child is a parish time of celebration and joy. Parents naturally want the best for their baby. We hope that our
parish will be able to help you to plan and prepare for the celebration of this sacrament in the best possible way.
Please consult the Bulletin for this year's Baptism dates.
Older children who have not been baptised can participate in the parish Faith Formation and Growth programme,
or the parish RCIA programme.

MARRIAGE
We extend a very special welcome to those couples who wish to celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony in our parish.
It is a joy to be able to prepare couples for this sacrament by which two people are bound together in a covenant of love.
Notice should be given to the priest at least six (6) months beforehand.
The Sacrament of Matrimony is usually celebrated on a Saturday. Requests for any other day of the week
(except Sunday) will be considered, however. Please finalise arrangements with the parish before confirming other bookings.
Bookings for weddings depends on the availability of the priest, scheduled parish activities, and other weddings that may
have already been booked for that day.
A diocesan pre-marriage preparation course is run six times a year for all couples in the Durban area. This course covers
preparation for the sacrament itself and for married life, and is conducted by a variety of speakers. An information pamphlet
giving details and dates of the courses is obtainable from the parish office. Attendance at this course is a requirement in
the Archdiocese of Durban.
Please direct all enquiries for marriage to the parish priest at the parish office.
